Astoria Workers Coalition
We are a group of volunteers, neighbors, and workers who host events in the pantry to bring workers together to meet each other, discuss workers issues, and organize ourselves to improve our lives and create democracy in the workplace.
Our meetings are open to all workers who are interested in these issues. If you have a boss, if you depend on a paycheck to pay for housing and food, you are welcome at the Astoria Workers’ Coalition. You don't even have to live or work in Astoria. The only exception are the police, who as the armed enforcers of the bosses and ruling class, are unwelcome at our meetings. Upcoming Events
Second Sunday of Every Month, 12pm-2pm (April 9, May 14, June 11)
Once a month we host open-door hours where workers can meet other workers organizing for power in our community. At this meeting we will share updates, ask questions & learn about ongoing struggles. We also may work on planning of upcoming events.

Know Your Rights Trainings by Unionized Starbucks Workers - Organized by Astoria Worker Project
Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm: March 21, April 18, May 16
Sundays 2pm-4pm: March 26, April 23, and May 21
Sundays 2pm-4pm: March 26, April 23, and May 21
Join Astoria Starbucks Workers for a series of trainings for workers to learn their rights in the workplace. As these workers unionized their workplace, they had to learn first hand about what rights are protected by regulations, and what rights they had to organize for using a union and community solidarity. Now they want to share their experience and pass that knowledge along to other workers.
These events are organized by our friends at Astoria Worker Project - a local nonprofit that's part of the Consortium for Workers Education. AWP is in the process of opening their own workers center in Astoria, but for now they are sharing our space on Steinway St!
