Our Budget
Our Spending for 2022 and Projected in 2023
During 2022, this was our monthly operating budget. We hope to keep our budget approximately the same in 2023, though we may have to lower our food spending in early 2023.

Our Funding
Almost all of our funding comes from donations from individuals in Astoria who want to support their neighbors and help us build a community space on Steinway St. We collect donations through ioby, which allows our neighbors donate easily online, and gives us fiscal sponsorship from a 501c3 while we apply for our own tax-exempt status. This means that donations made through our fundraising page are tax-deductible for the donor.
We have received some matching funds from ioby, especially during 2020-2021. We also have received a few grants from other nonprofits, such as the El Mezzi Foundation.
In addition, we recently began sharing our community center with workers from Astoria Worker Project. They have contributed to our rent while they stay with us. Read more about them on their site, and keep an eye out for when they open their own workers' center here in Astoria!
